Morgan Hill is preparing for the upcoming AMGEN bicycle tour of California from May 13-19, 2018. Racers from around the world will participate in the 645 miles of roadways, highways and coastlines during seven stages from Long Beach to Sacramento.

We are anticipating a great crowd on Wednesday, May 16 when the San Jose/Morgan Hill Individual Time Trial of 21.6 miles takes place. The race's third Time Trial will occur on the outskirts of Silicon Valley. This is the first time Morgan Hill will host the start and finish of the "Race of Truth" where bikers will start individually in a race against the clock. The 21.6-mile route features a moderate climb with the start and finish within a few feet of each other on Monterey Road in our wonderful downtown.

The course will begin in Morgan Hill on Dunne Avenue and then pick up Oak Glen Road around the north side of Chesbro Reservoir, then on to McKean to Bailey to Santa Teresa Blvd. From there, riders will head due south onto Hale Avenue and finish on Monterey Road.

Many of our residents will line the race course cheering on the riders while showing their home town pride as the hordes of bikers enjoy the beauty of our back roads. We're looking forward to the spectacle and to the chance to showcase our amazing town!
